The new school term begins! The 2010/11 academic year at Swawou Layout Community Primary School for Girls began on 24th September. A total of 40 girls – ranging from class 1 to 3 level – have been enrolled this year. The Children’s Education Trust Sierra Leone wishes to thank Law Business Research Ltd and the various groups and individuals from the Orkney Isles for their continued support.
New desks and benches for National Islamic Primary School! St Gerardine School, Scotland, recently raised a fantastic £600 for their Sierra Leone partner school National Islamic Primary. National Islamic have decided to use the funds to purchase benches and desks. The new furniture will help develop a more comfortable and spacious learning environment for its school pupils.
Summer school for the girls of Swawou Layout The girls of the Swawou Layout Community Primary School for Girls enjoyed a summer school over the rainy month of August. The summer school served as an orientation programme for the 10 newly enrolled girls and allowed existing pupils to pursue further learning
